Alkaline Batteries: widely used batteries with small size and more efficiency

Alkaline batteries are the most widely used batteries when we talk about the use of it in electronic devices. The efficiency of these of batteries are considered to be far more than the batteries made up with the zinc or say chlorine. The dimensions of batteries are relatively more because they are supposed to be of more capacity. Efficiency of the battery can be kept high by maintaining its cut off voltageas the voltage usually degrades while usage of the battery is high.

The electrodes of the battery are kept of small size. And that is considered as a biggest advantage of alkaline batteries because the small size of electrodes reduces the overall size of the battery. As per the industry standards, the material that is used in the alkaline batteries is manganese. Manganese by nature is having more density and purity. The performance of the alkaline batteries is directly dependent on the load to what the battery is going to be connected and the cut off voltage. The other batteries are six times lagging behind these type of batteries if we talk about the performance.

The chemistry and the composite material that is used in the battery:

Cathode made up of steel

Anode made up of mixture of manganese and oxide material

Because of the use of manganese as an anode, the battery works on continuous stage on static loads where the voltage variation is duck. Manganese have the characteristic of less voltage variation.

Considering present scenario and today’s situation, the use of electronics devices is increasing every now and then. And because of that the battery efficiency is supposed to be extremely high. But in case of heavy loads, the capacity of the batteries degrades it discharges quickly.  But if we compare it with the other types of batteries than it works far more and better in terms of discharge and adverse situation.
